
Tag-A-Long Essential requirements
TO BE ELIGIBLE TO ATTEND A TAG-A-LONG TOUR YOU NEED THE FOLLOWING
enough camping gear to be self sufficient
camping set up should be easy to put up and take down (max 15 mins set up)
vehicles require raised suspension of at least 40mm
vehicles need rated recovery points front and rear
vehicles require raised air intakes / snokel
good off-road All Terrain tyres
full recovery kit including but not limited to 4.75T rated shackles, snatch strap or snatch rope, cable damper, equalisation strap and gloves
if your vehicle is fitted with a winch you will also need a tree trunk protector, 2 x 4.75T rated shackles, 2x cable dampers
tyre Pressure Gauge
good quality tyre pump / compressor
shovel (preferably long handled)
UHF radio with 6.6dbi aerial with quality mounting bracket
fire extinguisher (1kg)
basic first aid kit
basic vehicle specific spares (air, oil and fuel filters, fan belts, wheel studs
20l per person water storage
deep water crossings and rock steps are part of the trip
trips are rated moderate to difficult (diamond and double diamond especially if wet)
all drivers should have some basic 4wd experience before joining the trip
all drivers need to be licensed and vehicles need to be registered and in a roadworthy condition
comprehensive vehicle insurance is required with a company that covers you off road like Club 4x4 who will pay for your vehicle recovery in remote areas.
